Welcome you to my online portfolio. I would love the opportunity to work in a more creative industry as well as a chance to grow on my skills. I enjoy working with Photoshop more than the other graphic programs and when I'm creating text graphics or editing photos for my website, Photoshop is the only program I use. I do know my way around Illustrator and Quark, but again I mostly stick with Photoshop. As for the Web Design part, I learn how to create webpages on my own by taking online course at Brooklyn College and I read alot of HTML books for reference. I don't use any programs when designing my website, I do my own coding and update when I have a chance.

A lot of these pieces are from projects that I worked on when I was in the Graphic Design program at Wood Tobe-Coburn School in NYC. I have landed a job at a production company a little while after I graduated from Wood Tobe-Coburn, but I have to say it was a very stressful experience and I decided to leave but due to a medical situation I had to take care of. I decided that production/pre-press was something that I really didn't want to get into. So instead I would love the chance to work with a growing company in a Web Design/HTML/Content Editing position. Thank you for taking the time to visit. Enjoy!

This is one of my favorite projects. I recreated the Glamour Magazine using Photoshop and Illustrator. I found the font used for the text Glamour online. I created all the text in Photoshop. In Illustrator I created the Barcode and for the picture of Lucy Liu I extracted the picture from a jean ad that I found in a magazine using Photoshop. After everything was done, it was all imported into Quark.

This is another project we had and we was asked to draw with chalk to design a greeting card, I choose to make a New Years Card. Me personally I think this one is alright, it's not my strongest but I like the way it came out. Again it was hand drawn with chalk and sprayed with something that will hold the chalk drawing in it's place. Then I scanned it. The inside was done in Illustrator and both pieces was imported into Quark.

This project we had to create playing cards. Everything was done using illustrator. At the time I was really into the whole Pokemon craze and I decided to come up with the idea to make big oversized playing cards for kids. I had a Pokemon game book and I traced the character pictures and then scanned it. I then used Illustrator and traced it using the line tool and the Pokemon balls was also made using illustrator.

Here is another one favorite project of mine. Our teacher came up with the idea for us to make a coupon of any item we wanted. Since I always bought a pack of Dentyne I thought it would be fitting for me to do a coupon on it. What was done is I scanned two packs of Dentyne gum that I bought and applied a glow around it so it stands out from the background. The snowy background of the coupon was a picture from a free stock photo I found online. The text was created using Photoshop trick that I found on my favorite site called Photoshopcafe.com so I decided to use the "Ice" trick for the "It's as cold as ice" text. The barcodes were created using Illustrator. The mini pics of the Dentyne and the barcodes and the bigger picture were all imported into Quark and the text in the cut-off section of the coupon was done in Quark.

My teacher got on me a lot about doing projects with Kurt Cobain from Nirvana(I have done a lot) but this is my most beloved project. I am a big fan of Kurt Cobain/Nirvana and when he committed suicide I felt robbed because I was really getting into his music. Every year since Kurt passed Circus Mag. always put out an anniversary issue and I would buy it and save them. I decided to do my own remake of an issue to remember him by and thus a new project was born. The picture that I use was already a wallpaper that I had on my computer and I loved how angelic he looked so I want to go with that. It was hard to redo the Circus logo so I just scanned a mag cover and cut it out so that I could use for later. I had group picture of Nirvana and I decided to go with that to used that for a side picture. The "Kurt Cobain" text and barcode was done in Illustrator. For everything else I did the black text with a fill of yellow in the box in Quark and then I imported the b/w picture of Kurt, logo, the barcode and the Kurt Cobain's name into Quark to piece everything together.

(Please excuse not being able to read the text) My teacher at the time wanted us to create a brochure with a something extra inside, since I'm in to kungfu movies, chinese actors, dragons and the ying/yang symbols I decided to put all of that into an idea. I created the ying yang symbol in Illustrator and I put the text around the top and bottom of the symbol. Then the pictures of the kung fu master that you see was from a clip art cd that I have and I just picked the best art that would fit what I wanted to say. Most of the text was created in Photoshop and I imported everything into Quark and set up the rest of the typography. The brochure folds were also put together in Quark.

This is another one of my favorite projects. I love music so much and again my teacher kind of gave me a hard time, but she let it go and let me go with the idea. I always thought it would be nice to work in the entertainment field, so I guess it what was driving me to do everything around that idea. For the title of the newsletter I came up the "on the edge" text in Photoshop and it was done by a font that I found online. I also created the razor in Photoshop as well. The typography that I used was from an Rolling Stones article I was reading, I just retyped it and organized it in Quark. The Napster logo I used was taken from the online site and imported into Quark. The back of the newsletter was just a recreated version of the billboard charts that Rolling Stones have in there magazine.

We was ask to do a catalog of anything that we wanted and I think there was something I was looking at that gave me an idea to make a education catalog for kids. I used alot of bright colors for this project because I think it is colors that will catch the eye of a parent and the kids itself. Alot of the pictures used I found at various websites and the descriptions I got of the site too. I imported the pictures into Quark and used text boxes for the the titles and descriptions. The order form part of the catalog was also done in Quark as well.

My teacher asked us to make a flyer for anything that we wanted, since I was going to a tattoo convention I chose that as my base for this project. I had a tattoo magazine and I just scanned it to get the picture of the logo that they used. The text "hotrod" and "tattoo" text was done in Photoshop by using the many Photoshop tricks I add to this piece to give the text some life. The 3d stars I chose to use because most people get then as a tattoo so I wanted to add them on the top and bottom of the flyer, they was done by in Illustrator. The rest of the text was done in Quark and pictures were imported in Quark too.

This is my final project that the teacher thought was good enough to make it to my portfolio. Our teacher said we should make a packaging design one that will include everything that you would normally get, but for the sake of time since school was about to end she told us to just do an outside package. This is not a real game, but I came up with my own idea of what kind of game I would like. I love Dragonball Z anime so I chose to use that as my basis for the project. For the front of the box I used a picture of the characters that I had and the text I used was done in Photoshop. I used regular type and the I added an outer glow to the letters, then I deleted the inside of the type so it will get a transparent glow look over the picture. For the back of the box, I used scenes from the anime cartoon as to what you would see in the game. The two characters I used I extracted from pictures I found on the net and I created a spotlight under them so they could stand out. The "this time it's personal" text was also done in Photoshop the same way as I did the front box. The barcode was done in Illustrator and the rest of the written text was done in Quark. For the final look of the project everything on a whole was imported into Quark and set up to look like a box for a PC game.
