San Antonio Pictures
These pictures were taken in June 2003 when I went to grade the Advanced Placement exams!

Panoramic View of San Antonio from the campus of Trinity University

This is a picture of a Mariachi band playing on the famous San Antonio Riverwalk. A must see for travelers to San Antonio

This is the famous "Puffy Taco" mascot of the San Antonio Missions and the ticket stub from the game I saw.

Notice the amazing camera work on this one! This is a picture of me with our table leader Sue on the last day of grading. We worked until 1:00 or so, and as we were waiting for the last sets of tests to come in, we all took snapshots. Sue teaches in the Washington D.C. area and was a super lady to work with!!

This is a statue commemorating a variety of Texas heroes, and is located near the Alamo.

This is a snapshot (again notice the awesome camera work) of me in front of the Alamo. The sign on the upper right is for the Crockett Hotel.

This is a shot from inside the Alamo.

This is the plaza inside the Alamo where a guide had just finished giving a presentation on Texas history.

This is a well from inside the Alamo which has survived to modern times.

This is a walkway inside the Alamo, on the right hand side is a museum of all kinds of interesting Alamo history.

This is a picture of a display inside the Alamo which depicts the Battle that took place there in 1836. Notice how large the original complex was at the time. Today, the area of the Alamo itself is much smaller.

This is the entrance to the Menger Bar which is famous for two historical reasons. Teddy Roosevelt gathered his band called the Roughriders here, and the famous Prohibitionist Carrie Nation (who used an axe to literally break up bars) visited here. There are bullet holes which, according to legend, were made by TR himself. Also, there is a piece of the bar that was patched in after Carrie Nation made her visit.

This is the hallway into the Menger from the Menger Hotel. All along the walls are pictures of Teddy Roosevelt.

Here's just one example of a Roosevelt picture in the hallway described above. I took several others but my camera work is, well, pretty weak.

This picture does not truly give you a sense of how large this head is. It's located inside the Menger Bar and is likely a "Bull Moose" because of the Teddy Roosevelt connection.
