English 070 Developmental II

• Overdue. Write two paragraphs: the first derived from freewring, the second derived from brainstorming. Show the pre-writing with the paragraphs.
• Read Chapter 23 sentences and 24: Coordination and Subordination. Do the exercises on your own to assure yourself of competence.
• Read the remainder of Chapter 24, do exercises in Chapter 24 & 25 as review
• Read Chapter 3, Illustrative paragraphs; on June 1 an illustrative paragraph/essay of one page was written in class

This page is for guidance and assistance of my English Developmental II 070 students. The homework in prewriting is overdue. We have jumped ahead to study Chapter 23 in Evergreen (sentences) and Chapter 24 (Coordination and Subordination.) Chapter 25 reviews this material and has exercises. We discussed semicolons and conjunctive adverbs on May 25. Discussion of colons, not covered in the book, will be discussed later. An illustrative piece was written in class June 1. For next class read about descriptive and process essays in Evergreen and bring the Patterns book.
