Assistive technology is "...any item,piece of equipment or product system, whether acquireed commercially off the shelf, modified or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of children with disabilities."

Among the many different types of modifications, assistive technology may be very helpful to your child. Many of these services are not very well known, and if you think one of them could be helpful, you should bring that to the attention of your child's teacher or parent advocate.
