The Building before anything was done. The lilies on the left side of the building can be seen. They were taken out to make way for new flower beds.
Flower beds were made by the side of the building on each side and mulch was placed after it was completed. The stepping stones were also placed in these beds (3 on each side).

The shrubs by the side of the road and entrance to the Business Office were accented by the black diamond mulch. The shrubs were one Crimson Barberry and two Old Gold Junipers on each side.
Around the flagpole, moss phlox was added which will flower in spring a white or light pink color. The mulch also brings the color out here.

This half-moon shaped flower bed really "made" the project complete. The flowers were taken from the Baker's yard and the shrubs from Toadflax and Kmart. The Bird Bath we purchased from Agway.
Flowers included Black-eyed Susans, Violets, Snow on the Mountain, Coneflower, Galardia, Coreopsis, Yellow Mallow, Lamium, Coralbells, and Blue Flax Linum. Shrubs were Juniper, Euonymous, and Gold Euonymous.

In this picture you can see Holly behind the large clump of Black-eyed Susans.

Six stepping stones were made all together. One with each of the area's school names on the stones. Names on stones are South High, Oliver Winch Middle, Tanglewood, Moreau, Harrison, and Ballard, They were placed in the flower beds next to the building on both sides of the entrance.

Flower beds along the walkway were a success. In these beds were hasta, red and white geraniums, and Astilbe. The Hasta and Astilbe were taken from Sarah's house and the geraniums were donated by Toadflax.

This shows a complete picture of the Business Office after everything was complete. The only things you can't see are the shrub beds by the parking lot entrance.

This is a more close up view of the finished product. Showing the walkway, beds next to the building, the flag pole bed, and the half-moon bed with the birdbath.

The actual physical work began late July 2000 and was completed late August 2000 before we left for college. That is all, I hope you enjoyed the tour of our project, contact hlupus@hotmail.com if you have any comments or questions. There is a lot of work to be done with these projects, but not so much that it can't be completed within a given time.
