LIV-I-CULTURE BAND

 

Liv-I-Culture Band is a Brooklyn based World Beat Reggae Band that incorporates spiritual, emotional, and cultural themes in their music.  Singer, poet and activist, Lascelles “Ras-I” Atkins formed Liv-I-Culture Band.  Members of Liv-I-Culture Band include Ras-I on lead vocals, Tony “Rankin” Winn on vocals and melodica, Sista Cindy Simeon singing back-up,Tony "Rankin" Winn and Mauro DePasquale on bass,Neucleus on Percussion, Brother Pete and My Business assistant, Sema and Betha on promotion and support.My son Josiah on everything he gets his hands on,Max Isaacson on sax and flute,Brother Hesham out Photographer,and Sista Agnes Bell on violin.New Members are in Rehersal stage with Band and will be added to the site this week

 

Various talented musicians have accompanied The Liv-I-Culture Band to enhance their entrancing reggae beat.  Such musicians include Ossie Dellimore, Cody Mofatt, Zack Glass, Mikey Jarrett, Andrew DePasquale and many, many more.

 

Since 1996, the vision of Liv-I-Culture is to promote social justice, collective healing, and community consciousness.  The Liv-I-Culture Band has been spreading their message across the world, with performances in places like Thailand, Hawaii, Turkey, and New York City.  The Liv-I-Culture Band has performed for many notable benefits.  Some of these events include:  The 12 Tribes of Israel Shashamane Hospital Fund, Caribbean Rising for Aids Awareness in the Caribbean, and multiple joint efforts with The Coalition for the Homeless producing clothing drive/benefit shows at homeless shelters across New York City.  The Liv-I-Culture Band was also proud to take part in “Reliving the Dream” at Ft. Greene Park in Brooklyn for the Dream March honoring Dr. Martin Luther King.

 

We are presently confirming dates for many local venues in the boroughs as well as planning tour dates for our international tour in 2004.  Check our website for more information and upcoming events and to purchase music.  The C.D’s for sale are “Nafisa”, “Believe”, “Strong Like Lion”, “Waste Medley”, and “Sour Grapes”.  Videos are also available by request.
