HANDY LITTLE CHART-
God has a positive answer:
Pastor’s Business Card
A new pastor was visiting the homes of his
parishioners. At one house it seemed obvious that someone was at home, but no
answer came to his
repeated knocks at the door. Therefore, he took out a business card and wrote
"Revelation 3:20" on the back of it and stuck it in the door. When the offering
was processed the following Sunday, he found that his card had been returned.
Added to it was this cryptic message, "Genesis 3:10." Reaching for his Bible to
check out the citation, he broke up in gales of laughter. Revelation 3:20 begins
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock." Genesis 3:10 reads, "I heard your
voice in the garden and I was afraid for I was naked."
Remember: "A cheerful heart is
good medicine" (Prov. 17:22)
Check out the Scripture
Union website. If you click on the box "Encounter with
God" you will come to a in-depth daily Bible Study and if you click on the
box "Discovery" you will come to shorter daily Bible Study. There are
also some other neat things to see there.
If you are looking for
a charity to donate to, you can investigate and compare the finances of many
charities on this website: Charity
Navigator. Type in the charity you want to look up in
"search by keyword" or use the drop down box to choose a category. See
if your favorite charity is listed under "4-Star Charities".
Breath Prayers
If you were in church on October 22,
2006 you heard Rev. Karen Patterson's sermon "There's Power Available" and she
told us what 'Breath Prayers" are.
Here is a link to some examples:
Prayer you can say in
one breath
Did you know that you can also find
information about "breath prayers" in Purpose Driven Life, chapter 10.
"Breath
Prayers - God wants us to connect with Him on a
moment-by-moment basis. When we pray once a week or even once a day,
we fail to take advantage of everything God has for us! Breath
prayers are a great way to keep in contact with our Heavenly Father
throughout our day. Just repeat short heart-felt prayers, such as
“You are my God,” “I love you Lord,” and “Thank You, Jesus.” Consult
Chapter 10 of The Purpose-Driven Life for more
information."
