Scott Dockett was hired in 2000 to begin a women’s hockey program at Plattsburgh State, and his hard work was showcased when the team completed its first varsity season in 2001-02, with a 21-4-1 record.
Prior to arriving at PSU, Dockett was women’s coach of the Birmingham (MI) Rangers and taught physical education courses. He was assistant coach at Bemidji State, where he helped to begin women’s ice hockey, from 1998-2000. He was co-coach at Western Michigan in 1997-98. There, he led the team to a national championship with a 28-2-1 record. He was an assistant coach in the Kalamazoo Hockey Association at the squirt through midget levels from 1995-96 and was head women’s coach for the Birmingham (MI) Rangers.
Dockett is a member of the American Hockey Coaches’ Association and the American Women’s Hockey Coaches’ Association. He holds a PACE I and II coaching certification and is also a member of the USA Hockey Coaches’ Education Program.
Coach earned a bachelor of science degree from Western Michigan in 1998.
