EXPERIENCE: 01/03 - Present Independent Consultant 07/03 -Present UBS Warburg Member of 3rd level technical support team maintaining approximately 600 Windows NT/2000 servers in North and South America. Responsibilities include server troubleshooting, server builds, A/D administration and project management. 01/03 – 06/03 Urban Media Technology Implementation and design of a Web Site portal that offered free email, chat, search engines and message boards. Project involved coordination of multiple software packages and vendors to implement a single sign-on database. In addition, there were numerous modifications made to file types including ASP, JAVA,XML and HTML scripts. Project was completed within the allotted time frame. 10/97 - 01/02: Credit Suisse/First Boston Vice President Responsible for managing the Windows NT/2000 Server Support Group, a group responsible for second level server support, in addition to third level desktop support. Environment consisted of 2500 Windows NT/2000 servers, encompassing infrastructure, file & print, mail, application and support. Responsible for evaluating CSFB engineered solutions and incorporating them into our production environment. Additionally responsible for Business Continuity Planning and Development. Daily functions included; resource allocation for problem management, trend analysis for server infrastructure and supervising all patch and upgrade projects. Additionally responsible for server monitoring with HP ManageX, Compaq Insight Manager, SHTI and SRM. Major projects have included; server migration from Netware to NT, Y2K upgrade to mandated versions, and branch upgrades to redundant server clusters. Administrative functions included managing a staff of eleven (11) engineers, submitting weekly and monthly status reports, producing post-mortems on all server failures, and performing bi-annual personnel evaluations. requirements 1/96 - 6/97: Perot Systems Manager, Server Support Group Position included the design, configuration, and installation of Novell NetWare and Windows NT servers as part of a relocation project, to Stanford, CT. Managed a team of four (4) technicians whose goal was to build 140 NetWare 3.12 and 56 Windows NT 4 servers, within a three-month period. In addition, responsibilities included the design of a replication scheme that would migrate user data, binderies, and all relevant security information to the target servers, from their present downtown New York location. Other Responsibilities Included: The design and installation of Windows NT infrastructure servers, in North and South America. This position required extensive travel and was completed in the allotted time. Managed Swiss Banks’ NetWare server environment, in North and South America. While in this position, I was responsible for the upgrade and installation of more than 35 NetWare 3.12 servers. Additional responsibilities included maintaining NLM and patch revisions, as well as third level service reporting. 10/92 - 1/96: Morgan Stanley & Company, Inc. Senior Engineer, Server Support Coordinated centralization of North American server support to main team. Project involved centralizing contact information, allocating resources, setting up training for server personnel and working with senior technology heads of each business unit, to ensure a smooth transition. Responsible for 30 servers. Prior Responsibilities Included: Planning and coordination, regarding resource requirements for Controllers Department. Supported firms’ goals, in terms of standardization, policies, and procedures, for the effective administration of the network. Identified and recommended support tools for productivity, and evaluated current systems, with recommendations for future changes. Senior liaison between departmental and client management, regarding problem solving and product integrity. Involved with extensive departmental planning, for long-term strategies, and technically implementing such plans daily. 12/88 - 10/92: Kidder, Peabody and Company, Inc. Network Analyst/Administrator Responsible for support of hardware and software associated with Kidder, Peabody Novell and PC environment. Responsible for evaluation of PC related equipment, troubleshooting, ethernet cabling, network planning, project management for Novell and PC related issues, daily administration of 10 NetWare file servers and related work stations, overseeing service personnel, and service requests, in addition to phone support for over 1200 users. Extensive experience with Novell NetWare 2.x and 3.x, WordPerfect, Lotus 1-2-3, Dataease, Carbon Copy, Windows 3.1, Excel, Word, Compaq, IBM, NEC, HP, Epson, Okidata, Irma, 3COM, Chipcom Concentrators, and AST Hardware. Additionally responsible for the implementation of the Network equipment. Analyzed and corrected hardware and software problems.
