San Francisco Chronicle: "Best things first: Jennifer Allen's Adelaide, whose performance reclaims the original charm of the character (Vivian Blaine couldn't have been better), usually played brassy and lamebrain.
"Allen's allergy-prone Broadway tootsie is ditsy but adorable, somehow finding new humor in 'Adelaide's Lament' and 'Take Back Your Mink,' while in between tunes mincing about on stiletto heels delivering lines in a squeaky voice, like a boop-a-doop baby ('Nat'an, I wawnna live inna liddle home in da countwee.') . Her takes and timing are classic but freshly funny, an Adelaide who takes no laughs for granted."
