my faith

everything derives from God

how God has opened my eyes

Created: October 30th, 2001 I have been a believer for 16 years... thank You LORD God Almighty! Updated: April 5th, 2011
... what's new: everything is meaningless ...

This morning I realized (God allowed me to see)
the single most important key to being a good Christian:

... by serving God as a lamb

A little while ago I realized that all the pain in my life is my "cup" which God allows in my life. Equally important is that I have to accept whatever this cup holds for me. After all, God is Sovereign; He decides who gets what and when - there is no one else.

On May 25th, 1994 I accepted Christ in my heart. I thought I tried everything why not Christianity? (I know it is a pretty weak reason to become a believer ... nonetheless my eyes are open now and I do hope I am one of His elect.) I started reading the Bible thinking that I was going to judge whether or not this book was real was true and therefore written by God. Be that as it may, one day I asked God why everyone hates me. My family never accepted me - it's more like they tolerate my presence. From NYC to IN to CA to TX and back "home" again, no one ever treated me as if I am a person. Holding a little Gideon in my hand I asked God why that is. So I closed my eyes, opened the Gideon and pointed to a place on the page without looking. This is the verse to which I pointed:

18 "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own.
As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen
you out of the world. That is why the world hates you."

... for the first time ever, a chill went down my spine.

Ever since then I have read the entire Bible. It truly is the Holy Word of the One True Living LORD God Almighty. And today I witness to anyone for which there is an opportunity - and if there isn't one I try to make it - I try to always think on His Holy Word; and let everyone know that I am a sinner. May you who visit this site be so blessed as to know that you have hope. All you need do is to tell God you accept Christ in your heart. May God bless you with His Holy Spirit, in Jesus' name, amen.

When I first became a believer I asked to understand His Word so I could explain it clearly to people so they might see and believe. Many times I thought I should have asked for obedience since obeying Gods commands is what counts. I felt bad, I felt selfish, and I thought I was on the wrong path.

Then I realized I was asking to help others so I thought that maybe I had a chance - maybe I am saved. Then I realized it would be nice to have a verse to help me and forgot about this whole issue. This was about a month ago (4/10).

Now I was searching the Bible for a verse about how every desire of man's heart is to do evil. I just found this short passage:

2 Chronicles 1:10-12
10 Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?"

11 God said to Solomon, "Since this is your heart's desire and you have not asked for wealth, riches or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, 12 therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, riches and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have."

All praise and glory to the One True Living LORD God Almighty!

About the NIV vs the KJV debate:

NOTE: I use the NIV as my basic text. The reason is that it is a new translation into our modern English - the vernacular which English speaking people use today. Although I was raised hearing the KJV text I find that its language is cumbersome and too difficult to understand. Many KJV users feel that the NIV is an abomination for different reasons. One of which is excluding passages from the NT which are present in the KJV. However, having been raised in a scientific environment I thought that this criticism was invalid since I knew that the the new text would have to be seen with new archeological information and a better understanding of the ancient language. After so many years of ambivalence on my part, the gospelcom.net Bible site I use has amended a passage with the following description:

(The most reliable early manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20.)

As such I feel that my continued use of the NIV is warranted. After all, we are not to add or subtract words from God's Holy Word - the Bible. And so it would seem that Mark 16:9-20 is indeed a sample of this from ancient times. Nonetheless, we have the Old Testament and all the words spoken of God and His Only Begotten Son must agree with it. So at least there is an objective (objective for believers) reference to whatever is said after the Old Testament was written.

I truly hope that what I have written is correct and true to God's Word. This is how God has opened my eyes. Nonetheless, if you have and questions about what I have written (or my understanding) you may contact me at the following email address (below right).

Thank you for visiting my site at Angelfire.com.
Ecc. 9:4 "Anyone who is among the living has hope even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!"

May God richly bless you and yours, in Jesus' name, amen.

I am a sinner. Please see my rebuke.

"A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all." - Psalm 34:19 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." - Matthew 5:6

My website is really a set of notes about how God has opened my eyes to His Holy Word. The reason I say that is that I do not study the Bible as some do (some use ancient texts, learn ancient Hebrew and ancient Greek). I read it, and think on God's words. I ask Him to open my eyes, and teach me His ways, in Jesus' name, amen. As such this is only a witness site.

Bible Links

gospelcom.net This is the best source for all things in almost any version of the bible.
ancient Hebrew If you want to learn ancient Hebrew, or if you just want to start learning Hebrew, then this site is a great place to start. It does emphasis the ancient characters.
ancient Hebrew Font The font used at the above website.
BSTHebrew font BSTHebrew is the standard font used on many websites.
HTML Hebrew characters This is my (yet unfinished) table of Hebrew using HTML code.
Jewish New Testament Publications This is a messianic Jewish publication house dedicated to the Lord.

Finally, please note that I am a sinner. I lose my self control and sin against God. You must be told this from the start so that you know I am not holy in any way shape or form. My hope is that I do belong to God and, through the witness on these pages, some one may come to faith in Christ.

Nonetheless I believe God's Holy Word and that every word of His Word is true. Although I do feel that I live in truth (God's Word) I am still sinning and so feel I am not living in Spirit - as we are told to do: "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks." - John 4:23

Psalm 42:2
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?

1 Corinthians 7:19
Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God's commands is what counts.
Galatians 5:6
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

Clearly then, the only thing that counts is that we love.

All praise and glory to God, in Jesus' name, amen!
