There is something I always considered interesting since I became a believer: science and the Bible. It ocurred to me that since God created all there is^* and He wrote the Bible, then clearly no contradiction of the Bible should be valid in science. That is, if science has evidence then that evidence will have been written in the Bible so as not to contradict science. However, science may have a view that is contrary to God's Holy Word - then it is science that is in need of correction - not God's Holy Word.

And so this page was started by me to illustrate that indeed, science is discovering the Bible revelations more and more each day. I have been in science (physics) since I was a teenager. I stopped for a few years in college thinking that philosophy had all of the answers. It doesn't - in fact the celebrated existentialist, Jean Paul Sartre, stated that everything is meaningless and people appluaded him for his "insight." Shame, because I guess no one read Ecc. 1:1. While philosophy is not a science, I include this here to punctuate the fact that God's Word is true and primary to all of "man's" pursuits.

And so it goes that the Bible is the beginning, all in all, and the end.

The BIG BANG, CREATION, and PANGEA:

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

When I started reading the Bible (1994) 11 years ago I read this and immediately thought - "HUH! IT'S THE BIG BANG THEORY!" and was convinced of it. Now I see that this is only a sudden and immediate introduction to all there is. It does not prove that the Big Bang theory is correct - or not. But then again the Big Bang theory is only a theory itself... so far. :)

Also, this first verse may be by way of introducing the reader to what is about to be reported, namely: creation.

Genesis 1:2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

There was only formless earth and water. "formless" here may mean that there were no continents yet. But then again, any land mass would be considered a "continent" and so this may not hold any water. :)

Genesis 1:3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

The sun is (suns - aka stars - are) formed.

Genesis 1:4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

Clearly now the sun is formed and the earth is spinning on its own axis. (The earth spins, and it is the spinning that gives the earth an "axis." It's not the other way around. :)

Genesis 1:6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.

Sun, earth, waters, atmosphere. All in agreement with what we know today.

Genesis 1:9 And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.

Within geology there is a name for this state of the earth: PANGEA.

The Bottom Line: The Bible has the only accurate record of creation. What more can a non-believer want to prove to them that the Bible is written by God?! (... then continue reading ...)

CREATION:
The BIRDS
I've been a believer since May 25^th, 1994. When I first read Genesis I wondered why God wrote that the birds were created first. Indeed I even asked God to allow me to know the answer to this puzzle, namely: how can God write that the birds were created first when man says that the birds were created last?

Many years past. It was about 6 years ago that God allowed me (and anyone with the same question) to know that answer. (Please note that in all of this - my notes, etc. - I am not saying I am special. My point is to state the events as best I recall them. I don't want position or rank in this world - as Christ said: if we gain our lives we will lose our lives.) I have always enjoyed watching programs about nature - archeology, paleantology, physics, shows on sharks, etc. Since it was objectifiable fact then I enjoyed it. Once I became a believer I didn't stop watching science shows on TV. (In fact I am a college physics teacher.)

About 6 years ago I was watching a show about dinosaurs. The interviewee was Richard Bakker. He gained attention when he made a controversial claim that no paleantologist accepted at the time - dinosaurs were birds. I was in awe! I never expected this to be the answer. I thought that the answer was in the wording - afterall, Christ spoke in parables. Regardless this was indeed the answer. But I was still sceptical. I thought that 1 scientist does not make a statement true.

So 2 more years pass by and every dinosaur show I see the scientists are all saying that dinosaurs were birds! In fact they now accept that we are living with the direct descendants of dinosaurs - the birds! (I always had an un-scientfic idea about the birds and the dinosaurs - if you look at both species, whatever dinosaur had some appearence, then you can find it among today's bird species.)

The world is a veil. As such mankind is misled down the path of damnation. Led by the world, only to be slaughtered. I cannot prevent it; no man can prevent it. It is God's will power and authority that it happens to those He has not elected to His peace. It is by God's Sovereignty that these rebellious men are not lifted up out of the decay and turmoil that is the world.

Without God man is truly alone, isolated and without hope. The Bible says that with God all things are possible and nothing is possible with man.It also says that man is but a worm and that God is our strength. Many times I think I will get "justice" by doing what I want and some times, by God's grace, I remember that, since God is Almighty, what better truer justice can there be to let God repay those who do wrong to me. Besides that, now that I think of it, didn't Jesus teach us to pray: " ... forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us." Indeed. For as He also told us - what kind of believer are we if we seek to persecute those who persecute us? As He said, we would be no different from the pagans.

It was reported on the Discovery channel today that the soft tissue of a T-Rex was discovered and is remarkably similar to that of an ostrich. The birds were created first - just as the Bible says.

AGE of the PLANET:
I never thought that the age of the planet was important or even significant. Afterall, the Bible says that what counts is obeying God's commands. (These are to love God above all, and to love our fellow man.) So what does it matter how God allowed the earth to be formed? It doesn't.

Secondly I knew about the prehistoric fish found off of the coast of Australia(?). Scientists believed that the fish was extinct for some 50,000(?) years but it appeared in a fisherman's net and surprised the scientific community.

So ok, that was interesting... and the news is about 30 years old. Well just now I couldn't sleep and decided to check my email addresses that I have left unopenned for a while and when I logged out of my first one I saw a news clip about a "ray gun" and a clip about a "shark." One of my students mentioned something about this when we were at the computer earlier today so I figured I'll check it out after this first one.

I openned the clip about the shark and was shocked - it is about a "living fossil" which scientists believe hasn't existed for 50 million years! My mouth dropped open as I read the fascinating story and was shocked to see it swimming in a Japanese seawater pool.

Now this is too odd - indeed it just may be that the creationist theory is right - that the flood destroyed the dinosaurs - as well as all life forms except for the ones that Noah was able to save. Thus a few remnants survived the flood and every now and then God allows us to see one of them.

Then I did a search at the National Geographic site (to check on the first fish I knew about) for "prehistoric fish" and found that there is another prehistoric fish, believed by scientists to be dead for millions of years, that was found alive: the bloodsucking lamprey

And I learned more: the sturgeon is concidered a "living dinosaur."

It seems that the so-called "creationist" theory of the planet may not be just a theory...

MAN:
"Adam" knew "Eve." Names in the OT have meaning. The Lord's name is "I AM." Clearly the single most important meaningful word in the entire Bible. With faith in our Lord God Almighty everything is derivative. We see that even God's name is a witness for Himself. Amen and all glory to God!

Now to my point - (I am not sure this belongs here since there is no science nor any scientific evidence for this. But if science has to do with reason, logic, and consistent explanations, then perhaps I may place this here.) names have meanings. And many times a name is used to represent the family of that particular person. Such as "David shall conquer ... " means not the single man named David, but rather the family of David or the descendents of David shall conquer... etc.

Keeping this in mind it is reasonable to understand that "Adam" and "Eve" may be refering to the families of the first man and woman.

Although I have no Biblical verses to prove this, there is the use of names as representing families that is repeated in the OT. And so it is not far fetched to accept this as a possible explanation for the progeneration of man through "Adam" and "Eve."

There is no Biblical proof, but it is, by deduction, reasonable. It does offer a reasonable explanation of the beginning with "Adam" and "Eve."

MAN:
The Bible says: "...man is but a worm..." -

On a recent Discovery channel show, it was stated that man's progenerator was a water creature that for all intents and purposes was the shape of a worm. It was long, with a mouth at the front, and swam by wiggling its body.

"Man," "Earth," and "ET": Thess words may be taken too literally. The ancient Hebrew word means "ground" and is also the word used for the name of Adam. Since "ground" means matter then God is God of the whole universe - not just earth. (Even the word "earth" means "soil" which also means "ground.") So God created the heavens and the "ground."

So, the way I understand it, there is no reason to think that our Lord God Almighty created "Adam" - a single man - only on a single planet - Earth - and not elsewhere - meaning the universe.

DNA:

Psalm 139:13
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.

This has got to be the most profound evidence that the Bible is the Word of God; that it is written by our LORD and not by men.

Ecclesiastes 11:5 As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.

NOTE: Here I believe that God is saying that since you do not know that it is God who sows you in your mother's womb, then you cannot understand faith in His Son. Becuase God has allowed man to understand how the body forms in the womb - but only as a scientific/natural event. This is man's failing - to not have faith in God, and especially His Son, Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 44:2
This is what the LORD says — He Who made you, Who formed you in the womb, and Who will help you: Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, Whom I have chosen.

Isaiah 44:24
"This is what the LORD says — your Redeemer, Who formed you in the womb: I am the LORD, Who has made all things, Who alone stretched out the heavens, Who spread out the earth by myself,

Isaiah 49:5
And now the LORD says — He Who formed me in the womb to be His servant to bring Jacob back to Him and gather Israel to Himself, for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD and my God has been my strength - ...

THE END OF THE EARTH

In Revelation 8 the LORD says that He will allow the world to be destroyed by objects falling from the sky.

Revelation 8

1. When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
2. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets.
3. Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar before the throne.
4. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the saints, went up before God from the angel's hand.
5. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake. The Trumpets

13. As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: "Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!"

Indeed woe. Recently we have seen the devastation due to meteors striking Jupiter. The fact that it can happen has been validated. Prior to that it was only speculation which was never acted upon. Today we search the skies for other "planet killers."

Scientist Dr. David Levy (of the Schumacher-Levy 9 asteroid which struck Jupiter) just stated on the Discovery channel: "The probability that we are going to be struck by a meteor is one ... hundred ... percent."

Rev 8:11 "...the name of the star is Wormwood."
I just heard this on the same show: Asteroid 1950 DA is slated to strike us in 2880 AD. You should understand that this will happen. The LORD God Almighty is not joking around with you. Come to your faith in Christ right now ... there is no time to waste and no better time.

As I watched the program a scientist came up with a technique to divert the meteor from striking earth. "How could that be?" I thought. Then they went on to explain that they need at least 10 years advanced notice in order to move such fast moving massive objects. However, a comet may strike us since they go undetected because they are only seen once they develop a "tail." It really doesn't matter. So many different possibilities may occur. The bottom line is that no one can fight against God.

Matthew 19:26
Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (Also in: Mark 10:27, and Luke 18:27) (See also: Acts 5:38-39.)

The point is that whatever God's will is, then His will is going to be done - not mine, not yours, not man's - only God's will is done on earth as it is in Heaven. In short, God ALONE is Sovereign.

Praise God!
When I realized that Wormwood is a star (that will crash into the Earth) I wondered to myself "a star?? how can a star be ripped from the sky??". God allowed me to find a statement from a Cornell University webpage about just such an event:

"Yes, there are stars between galaxies. When there are collisions or interactions between galaxies, stars can be ripped out of the galaxies. These stars will then wander into space between galaxies. Such stars have been observed with the Hubble Space Telescope. Astronomers now need to determine how many of these stars may exist, in order to get a better estimate of how much matter there is in the Universe."
