make smooth His path

I realized what this means yesterday. We are the ones who are to "make smooth His path" into the hearts of other people. That is we are the ones who prepare others to accept Christ. So don't get in His way ... as I have often done ... into the hearts of non-believers.

In searching for the NT verse I came across two verses in the OT:

Isaiah 26:7
The path of the righteous is level; O upright One, you make the way of the righteous smooth.

Isaiah 42:16
I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.
