fear God

Genesis 22:12
"Do not lay a hand on the boy," he said. "Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son."

We see that since Abraham was a righteous man, then to fear God is the way of a righteous man.

Psalm 66:16-18

  1. Come and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.
  2. I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue.
  3. If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;

Praise God! I found this after wondering if what I wrote was correct. (Please note - I am not trying to bring recognition to myself when I report something like that. I am trying to point out how great God is for being so quick to answer my prayer. I am nothing ... but a sinner. Don't follow me; rather follow God's Word - the Lord Jesus Christ.)

Ecclesiastes 8:13
Yet because the wicked do not fear God, it will not go well with them, and their days will not lengthen like a shadow.

And again, Praise God! Here too I had wrote (but deleted it) that those who do not fear God are those who seek their own desires. And the Bible says that every thought (desire) of man is wickedness. And so again God blessed me with the correct words. (NOTE: the Bible says what counts is obeying God's commands. 2 Timothy 2:3-4)

Ecclesiastes 12:13
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

Sabbath, Oct. 15th 11:20 AM EST USA

  1. Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed.
  2. When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals — one on his right, the other on his left.
  3. Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
  4. The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, "He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One."
  5. The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar
  6. and said, "If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself."
  7. There was a written notice above him, which read: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
  8. One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!"
  9. But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence?
  10. We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."
  11. Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."
  12. Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."

May God richly bless you so that you too know His Word, in Jesus' name, amen.

All glory to God!
