New York City to Albany is a 3- or 4-hour drive, depending on what speed you're driving and whether you need to stop to drain the coffee out. To the west of Kingston is a region known as the Catskills, favorite weekend jaunt of New Yorkers, with many ski areas and trails for hiking, biking and four-wheelers.
