Anyways. Ah, yes, languages. Isn't it weird how there are so many different languages in the world? That's just mind boggling. Do you have any idea how many languages there are in existence? Ha, neither do I! I'd like to know though, that'd be kinda interesting to find out. But it's just so funny, because you and I grew up speaking English, so we don't even have to think about it. It's just so strange to hear someone talking in a different language! Before I learned Spanish, I thought that the language was a bunch of "ay-ay-ay!" and "yo quiero Taco Bell". I still think that German is a bunch of spitting and hissing, and French is all "wee wee" (I can't spell it for real, I don't know French!) and "huh-huh!".
Think of a pencil. For us English folks, we just call it a pencil. But the Spanish call it a "lapiz". Germans probably call it something like "ucchraklmecht" or God knows what (I don't know German either, if someone does could you tell me how to say pencil?). There must be millions of ways to say the word "pencil" alone! And what if our word for pencil was someone else's word for something like "gun"? So if you were talking to them and said in English, "Pass me the pencil" and they thought you were talking about a gun, you could get in some big trouble. Or vice versa.
Have you ever listened to somebody with a heavy accent speak English? If you kinda zone out while they're talking and let their accent take over, it doesn't even sound like they're speaking English. It's quite amusing.
Well, I rest my case. Good bye, adios, au-revoir, bay or whatever other language you happen to speak.
