What I Love Lucy & The Honeymooners Have In Common..

Both Ricky Ricardo and Ralph Kramden are the main husbands on the shows and they both have the same style and color of hair.

On both The Honeymooners and I Love Lucy, two of the main characters got handcuffed together: Lucy & Ricky and Ralph & Norton.

The Kramdens, Nortons, Mertzes and Ricardos all took a "Vacation From Marriage." For I Love Lucy it was the episode "Vacation From Marriage" (Not to mention the only episode to show the Mertzes bedroom!) and for The Honeymooners, it was the episode "Battle of the Sexes."

Both Ralph & Lucy made TV Commercials (Lucy's "Vitameatavegamin" and Ralph's "Chef of the Future") and both made a shambles of them. [Thanks to Gerry O.]

Lucy and Alice both have red, curly hair and wear the same type of apron and dress around the house.

Norton and Fred are both the "second bananas" of the shows and they are both bald/balding.

Both Ethel and Trixie have the same style of blonde hair and are the wives of the second bananas.

Both Lucy and Alice had "old biddy"-type mothers who got on their son-in-law's nerves...although Lucy's mom wasn't as nasty and sarcastic as Alice's was. [Thanks to Gerry O.]

Both Lucy and Alice complain about the apartments they live in.

The Kramdens, Nortons, Mertzes and Ricardos all went on a trip to Europe.

Both series were performed before a live studio audience. [Thanks to Gerry O.]

Both Lucy and Ralph cooked up crazy, "hair-brained" schemes.

Both the Kramdens and Ricardos had a maid that either ended up being fired or quitting.

While both series were primarily half-hour shows, they both eventually expanded to hour-long episodes. [Thanks to Gerry O.]

The Kramdens, Nortons, Ricardos and Mertzes all lived in small apartments in New York City.

Both the Kramdens and Nortons and the Ricardos and Mertzes sued eachother because of something having to do with a television set.

On both I Love Lucy and The Honeymooners, the families moved into a bigger apartment. However, in The Honeymooners' case, they ended up going back to their old apartment.

On both The Honeymooners and I Love Lucy, the wives try to act more glamorous because they think their husbands aren't interested in them anymore. ("Alice and the Blonde")

Both shows factored in the name "MacGillicuddy". Which was (a) on I Love Lucy, Lucy Ricardo's maiden name, and (b) on The Honeymooners, the brother Racoon who defeated Ralph by one vote in a Racoon election--the swing vote courtesy of one Joe Munsey, a.k.a. Rumsey. [Thanks to W.B.]

On both The Honeymooners and I Love Lucy, a prowler broke into their apartments. For The Honeymooners, it was the lost episode "The Prowler" and for I Love Lucy, it was the episode "Too Many Crooks."

The Kramdens and Ricardos both had a baby and named it after the father: Ralphina & Little Ricky.

Those are just a few of the things that the Kramdens, Nortons, Ricardos and Mertzes have in common. Got any more you want to add to this list? Let me know!
