An Inevitable Cycle

A crimson sky swallows the sun, leaving the world to fade
Amber leaves are rustled by a harsh breath
Overwhelmed, trees must let the life fall
One by one, into a mass, yet still alone, leather is lost in the ground
A bitter, cold winter chases life from the leaves
The body covered with a white sheet, but not forgotten
Endless time passes and snow melts, replenishing fruit to keepers of life
Emerging from newly calloused skin, a new generation is born

So I wrote this one for my World Poetry Class.. sorry Jack if you are reading this again...

Fate & Eros (cupid)

A lovers’ kiss
Gentle hands sweep back blonde locks
To unveil a face of smooth, white silk

Her emerald eyes trap
You in a mystical spell
That makes your head twirl
And the butterflies in your stomach flutter
While your skin bathes in the sensation of
Her supple, perfect breasts
Against your chest
And your sea legs lose their ground
Entwined with hers
Like single strands of hemp
Braided to create one strong rope

Your heart: it’s soft tissue
Beats so hard against your chest
And you find yourself thanking fate
For guiding you to a love so pure

What do I get?
It was my arrow
That so perfectly struck your heart
It was my aim
That precisely pointed you to her
It was my hand
That brought you together

…and fate selfishly absorbs the credit

Blue flowers
Growing tall beyond the trees
You'd think they would die
In worlds such as these
But as the sun rises and sets
Life goes on, and love wins again

I hate my poetry I SUCK
Questioning Faith

You live a life of questions
But no answers do you find
The closest are myriads of suggestions
From people who call themselves experts

You live a life of questions
Fields of unanswered prayers
So you waive your faith because of tensions
When you’re dealt a bad hand of cards

You quit your life of questions
Abandoning a world that left you dazed
But you found on your Day of Judgment and exemptions
Faith is praying to a God you’d never seen but you betrayed

A Rare Occasion
It's a rare occasion

When you lie quietly in bed
And rays peek over the horizon to shake your shoulder
Whispering sweet chants of wasting time
While the fish glide low through the water to wake the rocks
And lazy bubbles float to the surface, disappearing like the sigh of night
The turtle peeks around the rock, stretching his neck to say hello
Today, we’re early to rise...

Later at noontime when the sun boasts with his glorious rays
The day is half over, yet you feel complete
Basking in the sun, when you otherwise would be asleep
A glorious feeling, the day seems 28 hours long
When you rise with the sun
