Videographer Shopping Tip #3
So you've come quite a distance in the hunt for a videographer! Now start closing in on the nit-picks that could wash into your video in a bad way. For a two camera man team, this is a challenge not to frequently capture each other in the shot. Watch wedding samples carefully - if a videographer shows you a "demo presentation", ask also to see an actual wedding to get a sense of this potential problem. Are these kinds of happenings frequent or rare? See how creatively a team can shoot and edit prior to making a final decision. No one wants to see more of the camera operators than the guests in their wedding video.
Please check out our samples in the Demos tab and see who shines through!

Videographer Shopping Tip #2
By now, you've probably arrived at a short list of videographers, capable of giving you the preferred style. Next up, is looking closely at the general approach from your potentials. Is the emphasis about how well they are equipped to handle your big day, or is it clearly defined that this is all about you? Look for vendors who realize up front, that this is not so much another promotion opportunity for their business, but a critical role in helping you remember how great your wedding truly was. It's all about you.

Videographer Shopping Tip # 1
There are a lot of us in the market with different skill sets and styles. Starting out can be a little overwhelming, especially if you're not sure where to begin shopping. For the moment, put aside all the other factors that may rush in like a flood, such as packages, costs, etc - these can be evaluated later. Start by thinking about how you would like your video to look and filter out styles that you'd have a hard time watching. This will help significantly narrow the scope and allow you to focus on videographers able to suit your needs.
Please check out our samples on the Demos tab and see if we can help end your shopping search!

Standard Definition vs. High Definition?
We get the question "Do you shoot in HD?" quite a bit. Currently, Future's Past continues to video in SD. This may prompt further questions, such as, "Everyone else is shooting in HD, why aren't you?". The quality of our technique is nested within SD, and we've grown to a place that our videos reflect a high grade of clarity within our specific limitations. In the future, we may expand and offer HD, but have decided not to make that play just yet. We've spoken with a good audience of people who have expressed that they either A) Hoped we were not shooting in HD as not to see every imperfection in absolute detail, or B) were not equipped with an HD DVD player, which would negate some of the reasoning behind videoing in HD (yes, it's true, it is possible to convert HD to SD and there is still slightly higher detail when recompressing down, but that begs the question, why pay for a service you largely can't appreciate?). Our reasons are in the interest of your budget and our ability to give you a great product. Please ping us with any questions!

Site Renovations
I invested some serious time in bringing color this site, looking at palettes
and hunting for a new mix that would jive. Sharon and I are very excited to
bring the new design to the forefront and share it with everyone. With spring
taking off (once the snow finally wrapped up), warm weather is great for outdoor
weddings and we're psyched to jump into the season ahead!
