You are our loving children,
Although you no longer grace this Earth.
We often find ourselves wondering,
Even now, about our worth.

We can no longer see, hear or touch you,
Though forgotten your are not.
You live in our hearts and memories,
For it's our souls, that you have got.

Why or how we survived our losing you,
Is something we can't explain.
Perhaps one day our Lord will say,
Welcome home, your whys will now be made plain.

So until that time comes for each of us,
Please know that we will carry on.
For loving you is what gives us strength,
And helps us greet each dawn.
