A forthcoming apocalyptic war?

Some theistic Satanists believe in some sort of forthcoming apocalyptic war between human followers of Satan and human followers of Yahweh.

I don't see this happening, ever. For one thing, I don't think there would ever be enough Satanists to fight such a war. I don't see Satan as the sort of entity who even wants vast numbers of human worshippers.

The only kinds of apocalyptic-type wars that I see as being at all likely to happen would be:

  1. A massive war between rival camps of Yahweh's worshippers (e.g. Muslims vs. Xians and Jews), or

  2. A war between hardcore Yahweh-worshippers (fundamentalist Xians, Muslims, and Jews) and everyone else.

The second of these is closer to the scenario envisioned by the above-mentioned Satanists, but it's not the same thing, because most of the people on the anti-Yahweh side would NOT be Satanists or LHPers of any kind. (For more about this possible scenario, see The Antichrist on the Church of Azazel site.)

By the way, not even all Christians -- and not even all fundamentalist Christians -- believe in a forthcoming apocalypse. There's a well-established school of thought called preterism which holds that most of the "end-times prophecies" in the Bible actually pertain to the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem in 70 C.E., an event which already happened.
