“Confidence in Christ = No Fear!”

28I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. 29My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. 30I and the Father are one.”

For awhile there was a popular fad as to where people were putting “No Fear” on their vehicle bumpers, wearing it on their t-shirts, etc.  For the secular world, there is all too often false confidences where people trust in objects, situations, people, circumstances, etc. where there is really no protection.  Now, quite frankly, some of those people that I saw with “No Fear” on their jackets looked pretty round, like one guy in particular on a Harley Davidson motorcycle.  He looked like he could have been from the “Hell’s Angels” motorcycle group, who are notorious here in the United States for their crude and rough behavior, some even leading to murder, etc.

In reality, if our confidence is based on anything other than the saving and sanctifying love and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we’re only fooling ourselves.  In fact, we find that we have a reverent respect for the Lord.  And we are to fear Him, from the standpoint of consecrated reverence and obedience to His will and His Word, the Bible, as we live yielded to the Holy Spirit.

As committed Christians, we have good reason to be confident.  But it isn’t that cocky false confidence that so many people in the world hide behind. No, but it is a confidence in the One we love and serve.  Once we have earnestly repented and forsaken known sin, yielding to Jesus Christ, allowing Him to come into our hearts and lives as personal Savior and Lord, He gives us what it takes to live victoriously.  That doesn’t mean that we’re perfect but we are being perfected day by day by yielding to the power of the Holy Spirit as He equips us daily for life and service.

As such, we have “no fear,” in reality, as our confidence is in Jesus Christ.  He promises us eternal life.  We know what the future holds for the believer.  So we need not be fearful of passing into eternity for we are truly blessed in that it has already been revealed to us in His Word that heaven is a beautiful place, with streets of gold, and where we will praise and worship God, and will be loving every moment of it!

Eternal life is guaranteed!  No one can snatch us away as the Father has given us all that we need in Christ Jesus.  As such, God the Father, and Jesus Christ, as our precious Savior and Lord, are One, along with the Holy Spirit, which is at a gift to us to enable us to live righteously and to be overcomers. We need to do our part to maintain a close relationship with the Lord.  As we read His Word, the Bible, pray daily, and enjoy sharing with others as we feel the leading of the Spirit to do so, we enjoy a precious fellowship in Christ, as well as with fellow-believers, and, as such, we can truly experience what it means to experience “no fear!”  Hallelujah!
