“It’s A Care Covenant”
“This is the covenant I will make with
the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in
their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will
be my people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother,
saying, 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them
to the greatest. For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their
sins no more.'” - Hebrews 8:10-12 NIV
God cares enough to share. He has a tender heart for His people and
what He knows is best for each of us.
He deeply and intimately loves and cares for each of us. In fact, He is so concerned that we
experience the very best that He has for each of us that He established a
special word for us, and, as such, ‘it’s a care covenant.’
The Covenant is a covenant of
grace. It is totally undeserved on our
part. We deserve death. We are given eternal life. We have a great high priest, a mediator
between God and man, the Lord Jesus Christ!
We are assured that we’ll know where
we stand,
“I
will put my laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts. I will be their God,
and they will be my people.”
No reason to pout. No
reason to doubt. He gives us precious
assurance in writing His Word in our hearts and in our minds. We have His written Word. We also have consciences with the Holy
Spirit as our Guiding Light! He does so
as a care covenant.
Furthermore, He promises to forgive our sinful behavior. If we will truly repent and forsake the old
sinful lifestyle, trusting Him to enable and empower us in His saving and
sanctifying fullness, He has pledged to forgive and forget. True to His word, we will no longer need to
fear past sins that we’ve dealt with.
Why? They’re gone! They’re forgiven! They’re forgotten! ‘It’s
a care covenant!’
