‘You cared for me when I needed caring,
You protected me when I needed protection,
You loved me when I needed loving,
And even when I didn’t…’
Julia began to write in her notebook.
“Ugh! Why can’t I get this right?” she asked herself as she ripped out the piece of paper and threw yet another try at writing out. Julia had to write a short composition for her English class the next day. The class was given a four days to write it, but being the normal teenager she was, left it to the last minute.
She looked around her room for inspiration. Her eyes landed on a picture of her and her boyfriend. They had been together for 5 years. Their families always teased her about the two getting married. They had thought about it many times, they even planned out who would be in the ceremony, and where they would get married… but then their plans were ruined that one fatal night… the night he died.
Even though it happened only a month ago, she had accepted that he was gone forever. She stopped crying herself to sleep the week before. But will never stop visiting his grave daily.
After looking at this picture for a while she began writing once again. About 20 minutes later, she had finish. After re-reading it numerous times, Julia decided it was ok. She clicked print, stuffed the final copy into her notebook, and shut down the computer. Julia brushed her teeth, put on her pajamas, which consisted of a pair of flannel bottoms, and a pink shirt that read ‘Kiss Me’. After turning off the lights, she crawled under the covers, soon falling asleep, dreading the next day, especially her English class. For fear that she would have to read her composition aloud, and break down crying as all the memories came flooding back once again.
The next day soon came, and so did her English class. And of course, Julia was chosen to read her composition aloud. As a tear rolled down her cheek, she finished, “You truly are an angel Nickolas Gene… my angel…”
