| Chapter 1 |
Dear Diary,
"Aww... I’m sure he’s out there somewhere! Anyways, Merry Christmas!!!” he said as we got off his lap.
Christmas is almost here, only two and a half more weeks! The house is all decorated, the tree is up… ornaments and lights are on. Soon presents will be under it. Not the one present I want most though... no one can give me what I want most this year, not my mother nor my father. **Sigh** only God can build this present. The one and only thing I want for Christmas and forever, and I can’t have it. Well, I have to go. Christmas shopping!
Love,
~Laura~
I quickly did my hair, and grabbed my bag, making sure I had my Gap Lip Gloss. After grabbing my keys, I was out the door and on my way to the mall. But not with out first making a stop at Starbucks. Now I was fully awake, caffinated, and ready to shop.
~5 Hours Later~
I was almost done shopping now. I had met up with my best friend Kayla about an hour ago. “Where next?” I asked.
“I dunno… I gotta get something for Chris though.” She said referring to her latest boyfriend. “Laur, look! There’s Santa!” she said with the excitement of a 4 year old. “Let’s go sit on his lap again!” It had become a tradition of ours to sit on Santa’s lap every year and tell him what we wanted. Mostly so the others knew what to get them, but mostly because we always hoped that on day we would both get what we really wanted.
“Fine, but NO STROKING SANTA’S ARM AGAIN!” See, last year, we almost got kicked out of the mall because Kayla decided it would be a good idea to annoy Santa, so she decided to stroke his arm. Well, let’s just say he didn’t appreciate an 18 year old stroking him! Still can’t see why not. Oh well! We soon reached Santa. After we were both on his lap, and had our picture taken, we told him what we wanted this Christmas. Kayla went first.
“I want a pair of silver hoop earrings, a new camera, and Andrew back.” Andrew was her old neighbor, he had recently moved to Florida with his family. We all teased her about him being her boyfriend because he loved her and was his best friend despite the huge age gap.
“Ok, I’ll see what I can do for you this year. Have you been a good err… little girl this year?” Santa asked her.
“Uh huh!! I always am!” she replied like a 3 year old.
“Ok, then… and what do you want sweetie?” he asked me.
“Umm… the new Creed cd, and love. Well, true love. I want to find my soul mate… the one who I will spend the rest of my life with. The one who will love, honor, and cherish me till death do we part.”
“Wow… I don’t know if I can do that, but I’ll try my hardest.” Santa told me.
“Yeah, no one can do that, cause I have no soul mate. No one who will love me… at least not the way I want to be loved.” I said sighing.
