Where does Fritz's food go

The Chain of Digestive Organs

Heres what happens...First Fritz looks at his delicious food the aroma gets sniffed up his nose this starts the digestive process, the salvitory glands begin producing Amylase, which is an enzyme. With this Fritz is chewing mechanically breaking up food, the amylase begins to break down carbohydrates, Fritz swallows his first bite and is works its way down the esophagus, because of peristalsis, after working through the esophagus in moves to the stomach where it is churned and the food is mixed with the enzymes pepsin and HCI which breaks down proteins. The the food moves into the small intestine where pancreatic juice (a mixture of enzymes) The pancreatic juice is made up of lipase which breaks down lipids or fats, protease which breaks down proteins , and lastly amylase which breaks down carbohydrates. Also in the small intestine bile from the liver is excreted into the small intestine, bile breaks down the lipids. After the enzymes and bile have broken down the main food components this allows the small intestine to begin the Second step which is absorption .In the small intestine most vitamins and minerals are absorbed, the left over proteins are sent into the blood stream. What is left after absorption, water and indigestible foods are moved into the large intestine where water is absorbed , then feces is formed, the feces then move to the rectum temporarily stored, until they move out of the body thought the anus.
