Here are some frequently asked questions about me and the work I do, so feel free to browse so you feel more comfortable.
What types of animals have you owned?
I have owned animals for as long as I can remember. I have owned fish, birds, mice, hamsters, snakes, iguanas, a uromastyx lizard, a monitor lizard and even a little chick (baby chicken), and probably more that I can't remember off the top of my head. I currently own a ferret and a dog.
Do you have experience with any other animals besides the ones you have owned?
Yes. I have worked with dogs and puppies. This is long before I rescued my dog. I worked in a kennel, where I did a lot for puppies. I have been doing pet sitting and dog walking since I was 11. I used to do it for free for neighbors and friends, and I loved to do it, so I thought it would be great to open a small business dedicated to it. I also have worked with over 100 species of exotic/wild animals, most of them being reptiles. I also have experience taking care of cats, and rodents other than the ones I own, like rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, etc.
Do you have any special skills?
Yes. I have slight grooming skills, I can properly medicate animals (The only thing I haven't done is injections, so if your pet would need injections, I would need you to show me the procedure), and I also took two Zoology courses. And, if you think it counts, my lifelong love for animals. Especially dogs, I have been studying them since the 4th grade, which is 9 years.
How do I know you are the pet sitter for me?
I always want a level of trust between us, and I want you to know that I will take the best care of your animal. I have personal references upon request. I also like to meet clients and their pet(s) beforehand, so we can get to know each other and you can observe how I interact with your beloved pet.
I have read that you are 19 years old. Do you live on your own?
No, I do not live on my own. I live with my father.
Does your father mind you pet sitting in his home?
My father does not mind at all. He owned plenty of pets himself when he was younger, and he is also an animal lover like me. He interacts very well with pets.
Would you come to my house, or do I bring my pet to you?
I do all pet sitting and doggy day care in my home, so your pet would have to be brought to me. My transportation is very limited. But, if transportation can be set up and I don't have any other assignments for the dates you would need, I would be able to do day care in your home, or short term overnight sitting in your home (5 days at most).
Do you have a fenced in backyard?
Unfortunately, I do not. I do, however, love to walk. If you decide you leave your dog with me, he/she will get plenty of walks and outdoor time, and their excercise needs will be fulfilled. I often go on hikes at my local preserve, and take trips to the dog park.
Do you have references and/or a resume?
Yes, I have both available on request.
