Advanced Open Water (AOW)
The PADI Advanced Open Water Course (AOW)
Provides the Open Water Diver with a structured, supervised means to gain additional training and experience. The Advanced Open Water (AOW) course consists of 5 open water dives:
2 are "core" dives and 3 elective dives. In each dive, the instructor elaborates on the dive topic , after which the students participate in a structured training dive that includes specific objectives and related tasks. The Core dives are Deep Dive and Underwater Navigation. Elective dive examples are; Boat Dive, Search & Recovery, Drift, Wreck, Night etc.. Upon completion of the AOW course the diver receives a certification card denoting Advanced Open Water Diver certification, which allows divers to participate in more advanced diving activities with a maximum recommended depth limit of 100 feet.
My AOW course consists of training in:
* Underwater Navigation
* Search & Recovery
* Current Diving
* Boat Diving
* Deep Diving
* Wreck Diving
Underwater navigation dive you learn how to navigate patterns, and use natural navigation as well as compass.
Search & Recovery dive
You're introduced to search equipment & techniques,
and how to use a lift bag.
Current dive.You learn & experience a current dive and how to handle a strong current.
Boat Charter You'll go on a boat charter with me where I'll teach you proper boat diving protocols. You'll be introduced to wreck and deep diving on some of the many ship wrecks off Long Island.
