The Philadelphia Phillies won their second consecutive National League Championship by defeating the Houston Astros, 6-2.

Ben Quick was named the NLCS MVP. Going 2 IP, 6 K, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, and picking up the game clinching win.

TOP 1st
Alex DeWitt makes his Astros debut on the mound and up comes Phillies Tim Stewart walked, then Osgood bounced into a 5-4-3 double play then Bernard grounded to short to end the inning.
BOTTOM 1st
Brett Bernard makes his third straight start on the mound for the Phillies and now the inning led off with Christian Johnsonite of Astros with a single to left. Ron Truth walked, Rob Hordic grounded into a doubleplay. Keith Kohler ground to short to end the inning.
TOP 2nd
Peter Brock led off with a strikeout, Vidro Parnell then came up and grounded out to shortstop Chris Strickland. Ben Quick on the second pitch hit a double in the left field gap, following up will a strikeout to end the inning by Sean Vontrel.
BOTTOM 2nd
Alex DeWitt led off the bottom second for the Astros and walked on 5 pitches. Joey Nuzion then walked on 5 pitches as well. Mike "Nosey" Brown then doubled over Brock's head and it bounced over the field for an RBI ground rule double. A foot away from being a 3-run shot.
TOP 3rd
Tim Stewart led off with another walk, Trevor Osgood hit a slow roller to pitcher Alex DeWitt and it went under his hand for an error. Brett Bernard then hit a single to right that just barely made it out of the infield to make the bases loaded and no outs. Up comes Peter Brock and the last time he was in this situation it was in the NLDS with the score being 2-2 in the bottom of the 4th when Brock hit a walk-off grand slam to send the Phillies to the NLCS. Not this time, as Brock strikes out. Then Vidro Parnell hit a fly ball to center to make the out and center fielder Christian Johnsonite throws it home as Tim Stewart is tagging to end the inning with a doubleplay and avoid any possible threat.
BOTTOM 3rd
Ben Quick comes in to relieve Brett Bernard with the score still 2-0 Astros. Before the game Quick was at pitching lessons and it sure helped as he strikesout the side of Joey Nuzion, Mike Brown, and Christian Johnsonite with a 3rd inning of 14 pitches.
TOP 4th
Ben Quick led off with a walk, Sean Vontrel popped out to short, T-Stew struckout looking and taking a swing and a miss when the ball redirected off the catchers mask and hit him in the nose. So the Phillies are down to one out and Trevor Osgood then came up and walked, Brett Bernard then walked and that then made the bases loaded. Peter Brock walked in a run to make it 2-1 Astros. Wilson Avez then came up and walked in the tieing run! Ben Quick comes back up and Houston pitcher, DeWitt throws a wild pitch and the Phillies take the lead 3-2! Sean Vontrel then hits an 2-run RBI single up the middle to break it open 5-2. T-Stew then gets hit in the shoulder and takes his base. Trevor Osgood then came back up and hit an RBI double in the left field gap to make it 6-2!. Brett Bernard then hit a roller to DeWitt and throws it home to get Tim Stewart out to end the 6-run comeback inning.
BOTTOM 4th
Ron Truth led off striking out looking, Rob Hordic and Keith Kohler ending up walking and Alex DeWitt then struckout looking and Joey Nuzion then struckout swinging and THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES ARE NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS! Second year in a row, Phillies back-to-back N.L. Champs.
