news227/ *BREAKING NEWS* Phillies win Game 1 by Forfit 4-0 [10.11.04]mon.[09:19 PM]
Tonight live from NET PARK, home of the Houston Astros, were scheduled to play the Philadelphia Phillies live infront of 50,000+ fans in Game 1 of the NLCS. However, the Astros were not able to make it, instead the Phillies came only to hear that the Astros would not be showing, so by force, the Houston Astros forfitted Game 1 ; 4-0. Astros owner, CH Harris did not appeal the forfit so it stands and the Phillies take the series lead 1-0 in a Best-of-3 battle. CH said that if the Phillies don't play before Friday then they have got to forfit to only make it fair. Phillies only open day is Thursday so i guess if they do not play that day then series tied 1-1. However Owner of the Phillies, Osgood, said that the game will take place unless some family issue comes up whcih is unlikely, CH had homework to do, it's not family related so that'd be the only way the Phillies would get the game postponed. The team really wants to play the Astros and end this right then and there and become National League Champions for the 2nd time and back-to-back at that! Raydogg and Bernard did not show up at the forfit tonight, Ray had was in Binghamton, NY visiting and Bernard was sadly at the golf course. There is still no word if he'll be fined by the Phillies, most likely not he's playing for free he could of taken his $30,000,000 instead played for free, for the love of the game.

So look for the Phillies - Astros, Game 2 live from NET PARK this Thursday night at 5:30 PM. Game 2 was scheduled to be in Philly but due to no actual game for Game 1 it'll be in Houston.

Batting practice was held for the Phillies once it was declared a forfit by the Commissioner, Rudy. Quick pitched some to Rudy and Rudy hit out out of the stadium on the roof going over 200'. Brock hit one out in BP, that's it. The balls were old and worn down, that was a reason but if that actually was not a reason then this is one huge field because Phillies are the most powerful team in the NL, Astros in that debate as well.
