news198/ Brock angry in Philly - Brock to the Yankees?! [08.17.04]tue.[3:35pm]
Peter Brock is said to be pretty angry for the fact that the Phillies have not played a game since July 28th. Brock just told us that if the Phillies do not play a game within a week he will walk out on the Phillies for good. This is what he had to say. I am starting to get really angry about having to sit at home being asked he don't you have practice today? Hey Pete when is your next game? Yo Brock when is 700 coming? I have to say i don't know why don't you ask my boss.
I'm sick of staying at home not playing baseball. For the past couple weeks, me and a few other Phillies got together and threw a little practice of our own because we knew that the Phillies weren't going to play anytime soon. As good as we are being 8-2 we still have a chance to not make the playoffs because their is a deadline for the playoffs
The regular season ends Friday, September 17th. The Playoffs start the Saturday the 18th. Any team that has not played all 24 games will be forfits. So that could come down to a huge deal. Phillies are 8-2 by 09.17.04. Oh now they are 8-16 just like that from first place to out of the playoffs. Yankees are going to be playing some 2 inning games soon to make sure they play all 24 games and stay undefeated. Even though you will get less at bats but you will get more games in. You rather make the playoffs than get more at bats, atleast i hope. Here is part 2 with Peter Brock Yeah so if the Phillies do not play within a week by August 25th meaning the 24th my be my last possible day as a Philly. So Osgood i hope you make arrangments because you may be losing that engine that runs the show. Without Brock Phillies have no chance. Without a key player on the Phillies roster, they have no chance. So you may not only lose me but you may lose some others. I have been asked where i would like to go and play, and well i've always wanted to win a world series championship. I've been to the show 6 times 5 with the Mets 1 with Philly and still yet to win one. The Yankees would be a good choice infact i would love to make history to be in the same outfield with Rudy and Neuman. History being the first ever 700 homerun man outfield.
LF - Brock (694), CF - Rudy (819), RF - Neuman (746)
History
Yankees would win without a doubt if they got me not to mention the chances increased when they signed Kevin Cylnburn a couple weeks ago. So Osgood this is a pretty easy situation for you. Have the team play a game within a week and keep Peter Brock or chose not to AND witness your star wearing the jersey that your team came so close to beating this year. Just imagion if i batted in that game against the Yankees. Could i of made a possible difference?????

You heard it folks, Peter Brock with a very strong threat! Seriously anyone that loses a Peter Brock will not making it back to the grand stage without an upgrade, that being another star to help you get to the World Series!

If Brock left the Phillies then it would most likely being a 'i quit' type thing meaning Brock can just leave the Phillies without a trade. Since he did warn the Phillies ahead of time they still cannot trade him without Brock letting it happen due to his no trade clause. For the fact that Brock may leave due to bad working conditions then it means that Phillies will not be able to get anyone for him if he leaves. If you quit a team and sign with another one you've got to have a great reason why you did that so not just anyone can do that and get away with it. If anyone just decides to quit a team then whomever he signs with that team has to give the team he quit a player. As long as the each players contract is atleast the same then their is no way the team receiving the player can denie it, but if the team gives the receiver someone making less money or more then the team receiving can either accept the offer or decline it. Brock would be leaving Phillies for a reason so Phillies would get no one in return. The Yankees may trade someone for Brock if they want to cut down on payroll but they could always send someone down and still keep the player but then he'll be off the active payroll. brock is not threating the Phillies like oh you gotta play or i'll become a Yankee and then you'll never win its only that he's always wanted to win a championship and best chance is for the Yankees especually when Brock will be retiring after the 2005 season.
