news191/ new additions to Turnpike Stadium, Clark/injured? [08.09.04]mon.[9:11pm]
Turnpike Stadium "The House That Rudy Built" will be getting some new additions to the classic stadium this August. Rudy is working real hard to get the Monument Park all set up. Incase you have not heard yet, the monuments are being set up in the upcoming weeks. Their will be four 4' tall 2' wide monuments in RCF right infront of the 163' sign. The four monuments will be spread out 2' from eachother, any balls hit off the monuments are in play, anything in between them are in play as well. The four monuments in order will be of Scott Rudy, Jerry "J.R." Neuman Jr., John Gravatt, Jerry Neuman Sr. Come next season we are expected four more monuments to be added in the prosedious area of the most historial consedro in town. If you have a monument it means your number is being retired as well. By saying that here are the numbers retired so far. Rudy (#51; 1993-1995, #00; 1996-current), J.R. Neuman (#29; 1993-1995, #01; 1996-2001, #21; 2001-current), John Gravatt (#50; 1994-1997), Jerry Neuman Sr. (#6; 1993-1997).

By the year 2005 here are the four new numbers that will be retired.
John Black (#56; 1997-2004), Ben Clark (#17; 1995-2001, 2002-2004). Now thats if they do indeed retire this season. The other two will not be unvealed.

Other news all the numbers MLB Yankees have retired such as Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle, Maris, Dimaggio, Mantingly, Berra, and others will not be retired for the Yankees jr. because they did not play in this league when it started in 1993. So all those numbers are open. Thats goes for all teams will their parents team (MLB) have been retired.

Another thing Turnpike Stadium is going to add is a new scoreboard, it'll be located most likely next to the lefty batters box against the backstop. They will also work on the dugouts and make them first class once again with the hopes of getting bat hooks, even player lockers (this feature with be added to the home team first) eventually to the road as well.

Earlier today Ben Clark of the Yankees was invited to a 1st Annual Snoop Dizzle Golf Tizzle golf tournament in Flushing, NY. As Clark was in the final four with names such as Exzibit, 50 Cent, and Jay Z he and 50 squared off one on one and Clark pulled his bicep on a swing on the 8th hole. He left the game due to the injury, Exzibit won the thing, but the important thing is the condition on Benny's left bicep. It's said that he just pulled it and there was no tair which is excellent news. Clark will resume to Pykx, NY to practice tomorrow at the Stadium.
