There were 5 extra hits all being singles and 1 groundout that bounced back fair because of Woodland Woods rocky cornfield surface. Going to the ballpark today we did not know that the field would be an actual cornfield, thats right we did know the field was a cornfield but the corn stalks grew in but without the corn and we did not know that intil we arrived at the park. So the game was still on. The picture below tells you that the game was the craziest game in League history! How can a game like this possibly take place?!
DeWitt as in the picture above went yard off of Indians pitcher, Fred Garcle in the top 1st to go back-to-back jacks when Phil Phocker took one out just before him. Phocker's drive went 214' and DeWitt's shot going 209'. We would also like to add that Cleveland's 3rd basemen Bill Flandes nailed one 226' to CF only to be a double. The ball flys at Woodland Woods. The air is thin over there and its in the middle of the woods. We would also like to add that the Altanta Braves hit for th cycle twice this season. The first being in San Francisco when Hank Richmond hit one on July 19, 2004 then today Phil Phocker hit one of his own on July 30, 2004. Braves have never hit two cycles in a season even when they were one of the best teams in the 90s.
