news160/ Two A's players suspended and fined big time [06.25.04]fri.[1:14am]
Bryon Taylor and Nick Macfine will be suspended for 10 games and fined $500,000 each for their actions on the 06.23.04 A's vs. Astros game. It all started when Willie Kinns hit a bases loaded grounder between the mound and home with two outs and all Taylor had to do is throw home for the inning ending force instead he went the hard way and threw to first. Kinns was called safe. Oakland thought for sure he was out. Taylor (P) and Macfine (1B) then came right in the umpires face (Steve Carnes) and yelled and said that was a B.S. call and then they threw their gloves at the ump's face, Taylor gave him a fat lip, now will give out a fat tip, as he and Nick Macfine were fined the half million dollars from their actions. Not to mention they were pushing Carnes after threw tossed the leather in the umpires direction.
