news143/ Yankees first 3 games, Rudy injured, HHP flooded - HHR... [04.13.04]tue.[7:49pm]
Yankees had their first 3 games in the beginning of April. Game 1 was on 04.04.04 home vs. Boston and defeated them 7-2. Game 2 was on 04.06.04 and defeated Montreal 25-0, and Game 3 was on Easter 04.11.04 and defeated Minnesota in their new ballpark, Frank Matcham Field.
This morning Scott Rudy of the Yankees jr. injured his left pointer finger as he and CH Harris of the Astros were playing catch. They were using soft hands and the ball struck Rudy's finger and it immediately started bleeding around the nail. As Rudy is taping at this moment he is using his pointer and middle finger on his right hand and his middle finger on his left hand instead of using both. Despite with Rudy's injured finger he will continue to play instead of going on the DL.
Tonight the Yankees had a scheduled game at Pittsburgh's ballpark, Hillview Ridge, to play the Pirates, however, this afternoon it down poored like crazy, even last night it rained but today was mammoth. The fields were flooded around MLB jr. So the scheduled 6:30 game between Yankees and Pirates was a rain out and Rudy decided to head over the Howlett Hill Park (HHP) to hit some flyballs. I don't know how Rudy got around CH's tough security but he did. He took some BP too (Rudy acts like he owns the place) and he happened to see a huge river beyond the CF fence, it was a foot deep in the deepest section. It is 200ft. from home plate. The playground is 220ft. away which is located in RCF. HHP's turf was all flooded especually in the corners and even more was in RF corner, which was 6 inches high. Don't count on seeing a game being played at HHP atleast intil Friday, unless the sun is out then we'll say Thursday. The river over the CF wall will be called Howlett Harris River, HHR... how about renaming Howlett Hill Park to Howlett Harris Park, HHP.
