Washu is over 20,000 years old, although it is never told what her life was like over 20,000 years ago, it's obvious she's related to Tsunami and Tokimi. Wahsu had a husband and child, but she lost them to the social economic discrimination that plague the real world. Out of disgust Washu denounced her adulthood and took the form of a child. Soon after she went from student to competing for the director's chair with Dr. Clay. Clay's ambitions cost him his slot at the Science Academy and Washu ended up taking Kagato as a student. Soon after Washu was held in a prison and was to stay there until freed by Mihoshi, and the rest is history.
