Possibly the one thing that took me the longest to figure out (even now i'm not as convinced that i'm right as I am with all my other theories) was Tenchi's ability to summon the Light Hawk Wings. If this coveted ability is the power of the gods how can a Jurain, even if he is of royal blood, control it? The answer i found comes from episode six, the first time we see Tenchi summon this power. During the fight between Ryo-ohki and Soja Reohu (i'm probably butchering the spelling of Ayeka's ships name) was completly distroyed, with Tenchi in it. Latter we see that Tenchi was saved by Azaka and Kamidake and then he meets with Tsunami, i always thought Tsunami was getting a little close, but i never really thought twice about it. Let's look at what we know, we know Tenchi was seriously injured (Ryoko grabs Tenchi's head band and it's covered with blood). A blow like that to the head can only mean one thing, major blood lose, we also know Tsunami can "assimilate" to save people, we see it with Sasami (no this doesn't mean Tenchi will grow up to look like Tsunami, he doesn't have as strong a link with Tsunami as Sasami does). What happened was Tsunami gave Tenchi some of her "life force" (out of lack of a better term) to save him. This could have given Tenchi the ability to summon the wings, it also means that Tenchi probably has powers surpassing that of any Jurain (except Sasami) if he could learn how to use them.
