No Tenchi doesn't have a secret hiding place in the series.

OVA
Tenchi, the poor guy who gets bombarded by beautiful women, the power of the light hawk wings, and doesn't have to go to school (what the hell is his problem?). Tenchi's house got relocated by Ryoko so Tenchi now spends most of his time farming for his grandfather. He also spends a lot of time trying to avoid the girls. He seems to like Ayeka at first (until he realizes she's a b****). His power to control the light hawk wings is very mysterious (even more so since it only has three wings, not ten) and one day he may go to take his place as Empeoror of Jurai (at least that was Yosho's plan).



TOKYO

Tenchi is the rightful heir to the thrown. His Jurai power surpasses everyone, including the legendary warrior Yosho's, and he doesn't know any of this! Tenchi is really lazy (unlike the super serious guy we know from the ova), and likes to just lay back and do nothing (maybe he should marry Mihoshi). It seems that he is interested in Ryoko, and the carefree life she promises.



TOKYO

Once again going through a peronality change, Tenchi is now a typical teen (although he has the shy attitude he did in the ova). Along with Ryoko's attitude change he once again seems to be leaning towards her, if it wasn't for Sakuya (yes, Tenchi finaly got a girl!!!!!). Once again however, what the hell did this series do, Tenchi is not from the royal family, he's not even from Jurai! He does, however still have power, in the form of gems (are we seeing a theme here) that can create a sword of great power.
