Coming out from uder the shadows of the myriad Long Island Railroad overpasses, we're maintaining our speed on the forewarned upgrade. We're passing Archer Avenue and approaching Jamaica Hospital, the shiny brown glass building to the right.

The exit for Jamaica Avenue is coming up by the hospital and motorists heading for the following Main Street/Union Tpke. exit are advised to get into the right lane now, if they haven't already done so.

Just before the exit we pass one of many car auction lots in the area. The Al Khoei Mosque, a major Islamic center in Queens, follows the car lot. All the exiting destinations here go a long way. Main Street shoots all the way north into downtown Flushing, Union Tpke heads all the way to New Hyde Park in Nassau County, Hillside goes well into Nassau, picking up a state route designation along the way, as does Jamaica Avenue, which becomes the venerable and venerated Jericho Tpke, cutting a swath well into Suffolk County far out on the Island.
