Top of PageToday has been just one of those days where everything that could go wrong did go wrong. So I have not been feeling well for about two weeks now, and I went to the health center today. A couple tests later and they still do not know what is wrong with me. So you know what that means??? More tests of course, and I assure you they are not pleasant tests either. So that is something to look forward to in the next couple of days.
Let’s see what next… I forgot that today was Tuesday, and I was parked in the “Tow Away Tuesday” zone. I was very lucky in the fact that my car did not get towed, but I still got a parking ticket. That would not have bothered me so much if everything else were going all right today.
So the real kicker of all today was coming back to my room after all of the tests to find a goodbye letter typed on my computer. Apparently Ken could not bring himself to say goodbye in person. It completely broke my heart because it was out of the blue. I had no idea that he was even going to leave the area in the next couple of weeks let alone today. So I cried and cried and talked to those I love and realized that things will work themselves out. It is not as bad as I originally thought. It was not as though he wanted to end the relationship because after all we have been getting along really well overall. A long distance relationship is always stressful, but I am confident that if it is meant to work that it will in the end work out. There is no need to worry about those things that you cannot control. The future is so uncertain but that is what is supposed to be exciting about it. So needless to say I am feeling much better about things although I did my share of yelling on the phone tonight. Things are going to be fine either way.
So on a happy note… Yesterday in the Office of Admission, Ben and Dean Neal were talking about Vermont Teddy Bears. I mentioned that I had always wanted one, but they told me that they would not get me one unless I was sick. Of course I was just mentioning that I wanted one, never expecting to get one. Today in the mail I received a package, and guess what?!?!? It was my very own Vermont Teddy Bear with a note that read, “Ask and you shall receive.” It was the perfect day to receive it, and I absolutely love the bear especially because it is PURPLE!!!
So there are a few good things that did happen today along with some trying moments. In other news, summer is almost over for me. I start RA training next Friday, and I move into my new room this Friday. I cannot believe how fast it went, but I am ready to have my Senior year start.
Back to packing then to dream land. Until the next time… take care!
Top of PageSo just when you think that you now have time to finally relax, summer is all of a sudden over. I started RA training yesterday, and I cannot believe that classes start in a couple weeks. It just does not seem possible, but I am ready to start my Senior year.
It was so much fun to work in Admissions this summer. The counselors, secretaries and other student workers are so friendly and nice. I am going to miss being there all day, but I will still work a couple of hours a day during the school year. I will not miss giving one or two tours a day in the heat that is for sure.
During the summer I always think that I am going to have so much time to get this and that done, but it never seems to happen. Life always seems to get busier and busier each day. I look around my new room and nothing is set up how I want it, and I never finished half of the projects I wanted to complete. Although I can say that I really enjoyed myself this summer. I was able to spend numerous hours with Ken before he left, and we enjoyed each other’s company. I had my senior pictures taken which was a big goal of the summer, and overall I just had a relaxing time for my last summer before the real world. I will miss having the summers off from class and such, but I am looking forward to a real job and a new life somewhere.
So before I jump too far into the future, I think I will finish up what I was working on. My door tags are done, now I just need to hang them. I do not have any residents yet, but I know that some of my girls play field hockey and will be here soon. So anyway, time to clean up and head to bed. RA training continues all week and then on Saturday I am going to see my baby!
Ok, ok, time to go… nighty night.
