Submit Your Story to Our Library :)
Please submit your story to the Library. We'd really love to feature you (as long as your story is within our guidelines, of course). All stories written within guidelines are acceptable regardless of their genre(s) or whether they are fictional or not. If your story is rejected for falling without guidelines, don't take it personally. We look at the story content to determine acceptable from unacceptable content, it doesn't matter who the author is. If Andrea Dworkin herself wrote a story that fell without our guidelines, we would not feature it. So don't take it personally if we tell you your story is without our guidelines.
We'll probably tell you what you can do to the story to make it fall within content guidelines and be featureable. Even the most open-minded writers who are not bigotted or prejudiced can sometimes write things that have offensive or objectionable meanings which they are unaware of. That is why editors exist. Don't take it personally if the editor requests that you modify your story if you want it featured. If you really disagree with the editor, then that is fine too, but obviously we're going to run the Library according to our beliefs and not yours. Don't take it personally. If you take it personally despite all this, well, I suppose there's nothing we can say to convince you otherwise. ;)
That said, anyone can submit a story to the Library, whether or not they are a member of the URC, although of course we will run the Library itself according to URC regulations. We may remove stories from the Library at any time. Once featured, you can ask us to take down your story at any time. If you don't make such a request, it will remain up.
We disclaim any ownership over stories submitted to us. We do not claim ownership over any stories submitted to us in full or in part; they remain fully and completely owned by their producers, with all attendant rights thereby; we do claim a right to feature any story sent to us for at least six months, and by sending a story to us you agree to this single condition of service. We will not modify any story sent to us without the author's express permission and consent. Should the author wish to update hir story after it has been submitted, ze can do so at any time by sending an email describing the update(s) to the Librarian.
NOTICE: As of June 03, 2001, Revolutionary Studios is indefinitely terminating the pay-per-story plan outlined below, as we can no longer afford it. If, in the future, we decide that it's feasible again, we may resume it. Meanwhile, although we still enthusiastically encourage authors to submit their short stories to our Library, we cannot compensate you for it. We're very sorry. Please disregard any of the following insofar as it promises payment for stories; it is being kept only for archival purposes.
Members of the People's Bank of Eudaimonia will be paid in Lux for their stories! :) If you are People's Bank member please say so when you submit your story to us. We will pay you for your contributions by the page. A page means a space with dimensions of 216 milimetres by 279 milimetres or 8½ inches by 11 inches, the standard dimensions of an American letter document.
We will measure your contribution on a word-processor and pay you accordingly:
| For: | ||
| 1/4 Page or Less | .05p | |
| 1/2 Page | .10p | |
| 3/4 Page | .15p | |
| 1 Page | .20p | |
| 2 Pages | .40p | |
| 3 Pages | .60p | |
| 4 Pages | .90p | |
| 5 Pages or More | X1.10 |
If you are not a member of the People's Bank of Eudaimonia you may still submit your story, but obviously we'll have no way to compensate you for it. If we have paid you in Lux for your story, we reserve the right to keep it featured for at least six months time, except where extrenuating circumstances permit. (speak to the Librarian)
Submit your story by sending it to the LoSS Librarian. We recommend that you send it in .htm or .html format, since this is a universal file format, and the story will ultimately be HTMLized. If you would like the HTML to look a particular way, make sure to tell that to the Librarian, or do the HTML work yourself and send it to the LIbrarian. If you don't give the Librarian directions on how to program the HTML for your story, your story will be featured in default mode, meaning black Times New Roman font at size 3 on a white background, all on one page.
The Librarian will classify your story in one or more of the listed genres. If you would like to recommend a genre classification to the Librarian, you are invited to do so, and your wishes will probably be heeded, within reason.
If you would like to publish your story anonymously, we will be happy to facilitate that as well, just let the Librarian know. :)
If you want to be paid for your story you must tell the LoSS Librarian your name and your People's Bank Account Number. We'll handle the rest. :)
