~ Take a purifying bath and robe yourself. Return to the circle.
~ Light incense and altar candles.
~ Say "This circle is about to be cast and I stand within of my
~ own free will"
~ Take the center altar candle to light the circle candles.
~ Light the Green candle at the North of the circle saying "I call
~ upon Earth at the North as I have body and strength"
~ Light the Yellow candle at the East of the circle saying "I call
~ upon Air at the East as I breathe and think"
~ Light the Red candle at the South of the circle saying "I call
~ upon Fire at the South as I consume life to live"
~ Light the Blue candle at the West of the circle saying "I call
~ upon Water at the West as I feel and my heart beats."
~ Return to the Altar and hold your hands cupped, palms up as
~ you were holding a ball, over the altar. Visualize a ball of
~ blue light and energy in your hands. Now drop the ball and
~ see it explode out in all directions, to the boundaries of the
~ circle, to form a perfect sphere around you.
~ Face up towards the sky, say "Father Sky, I ask that you watch
~ over me and lend me your wisdom"
~ Place your hands on the ground, saying "Mother Earth, I ask
~ that you watch over me and let me ground myself deeply in you
~ and draw on your strength and energy to sustain me in my
~ workings"
~ Face altar saying "Sacred center, Spirit of all, unite this circle
~ into a protected space"
~ Take a sip of wine from the chalice and say "As above, so below.
~ Only love shall enter and leave this circle which is now sealed"
~ Proceed to any rituals and spell workings that you wish to be
~ done at this time
~ Now ground the energies and replenish yourself with a bit
~ of food and drink
~ Give your blessings to all before clearing the circle
~ Face the sky saying "Depart in peace Father Sky My blessings
~ take with you"
~ Face the earth saying "Depart in peace Mother Earth My
~ blessings take with you"
~ Snuff the Green candle at the North saying "Depart in peace
~ Earth at the North My blessings take with you"
~ Snuff the Yellow candle at the East saying "Depart in peace
~ Air at the East My blessings take with you"
~ Snuff the Red candle at the South saying "Depart in peace
~ Fire at the South My blessings take with you"
~ Snuff the Blue candle at the West saying "Depart in peace
~ Water at the West My blessings take with you"
~ Return to the altar and snuff the altar candles saying "Depart
~ in peace beings and powers of the seen and unseen I thank you
~ for your help in my workings My blessings take with you"
~ Contract the circle energy the same way you expanded it.
~ Open your receptive hand and pull the ball of energy back
~ into it. Either give it up to the Universe or absorb it into
~ yourself visualizing that it has transformed into healing
~ energy.
~ After all the beings have gone and the circle energy has been
~ released, say "This circle is cleared. We came in love and we
~ departed in love. The circle is now open"
~ Now put away all of the supplies except any candles that
~ need to continue burning, such as in candle magick.
Rituals may be done outside with a stang as the altar. The stang is stuck into the ground with a wreath of flowers pertinent to the season hanging from it. With a candle at the base of the stang and a cup of wine, you are ready for your rituals. The wreath may be left behind on a tree branch or on the ground as food for the animals if composed of seeds and berries.
