Welcome to the Oneida Area Chapter of The Embroiderers' Guild Of America, Inc.  The Embroiderers' Guild of America, formerly the American Branch of the Embroiderers' Guild of London, was incorporated in 1973 in New York.  Today there are more than 20,000 members of 350 chapters in 13 regions.  EGA headquarters is located in Louisville, KY.  There is a National Board of directors which consists of elected officers and the directors of each region.

Our chapter is a member of the Mid-Eastern Region (MER), which is comprised of 18 chapters in New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.  The Board of Directors of the MER consists of elected officers and the president  and the region representative of each of the 18 chapters.  Our chapter has a board of directors consisting of elected officers and chairpersons of standing committees.

The purpose of the organization is to foster the highest standards of excellence in the practice of the art of embroidery through an active program of education and study and to preserve the heritage of the art of embroidery.

The Day Group meets at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Verona on the second Tuesday of each month (weather permitting).  The Evening Group meets at the Kirkland Town Library on the second Monday of each month.   The Stitch In on the fourth Tuesday is held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.  Dues are $30 annually and $10 for plural members.  Dues include regional and national dues in addition to monies that remain in the chapter.  Members receive the EGA national publication, NeedleArts, quarterly.
