Welcome to the NYC Metro Alumnae
Chapter of Alpha Phi!

Welcome Alumnae of Alpha Phi,

The NYC Metropolitan Area Alumnae Chapter is for sisters and their friends who live and/or work in the five boroughs. We hold monthly events in various locations throughout Manhattan. These events are a great way to meet friends new and old and experience what the city has to offer. If you are new to the area or have lived here for years, there is always something going on in the city and our chapter uses that opportunity to make our events happen. Our events have included: Cocktails at various city establishments, financial advisory, our annual Yankees games, city tours, paint your own pottery, scrap booking, Bingo (not just for grandma anymore), Founders Day brunch, and every February we have an Alpha Phi Foundation event. We try to have events that everyone of all ages can enjoy. The easiest way to learn about events is by joining our Yahoo site. Once you click the button below and register, you will receive email announcements for our events.

Here are some things to keep in mind: This is not your collegiate chapter. There are no formal meetings, no mandatory events, and you do not have to wear letters. Most of all, our dues are very cheap. This is the time where you can just get together and chill with new and old friends from chapters across the country. This chapter is a great way to network with other women and have something to do once a month.

As alumnae, we know you are busy and there is always something else coming up. However, if you want to get the most out of the chapter, you have to get involved. Besides coming to events, you can put your talents to use in a fun way. Do you have a skill that you can share? Is there something in the city that you have always wanted to do, but not alone? Here is your opportunity to make that happen. Our chapter is made up of volunteer sisters who have full time jobs and social lives - so we are always looking for more friends to help with planning activities. Of course we're also always looking for other ideas that help build the chapter.

We also ask that you support the chapter by paying local dues. Dues are there to cover the cost of annual newsletter which is mailed at the end of each summer. For further questions regarding dues, you can contact Sarah Courtney, Vice President of Membership and Jessica Weinberg, Vice President of Finance. Our dues structure is flexible and we appreciate all that you can afford.

Once a month we have an e-newsletter to keep you informed of what is going on with our chapter, so sign up at Yahoo to make sure you get your newsletter.

I have made some wonderful friends through the chapter that I would not have met otherwise, and it has truly been one of the best things I have done. I hope that you to can have as wonderful an experience as I have had.

The Executive Board thanks you and can't wait to see you at the next event.

AOE,

Melissa Friedman
President
