Kyoto

Ginkakuji- The silver temple...that isn't silver?! They never got around to completing this temple, but the garden and scenery around the temple is wonderful.

Kinkakuji- The golden temple(it's really gold!!). You just have to see it to believe it.

Laborer- This was the first time I had ever seen a man powered carraige, I thought it was interesting.

Heian Shrine- This is the impressive Heian Shrine in Kyoto. When Kyoto was the capital of Japan it was called Heian-kyo. Heian means peaceful, while kyo means capital…the same "kyo" is in the word Tokyo. It is an enormous place and it's only about 1/3 the size that it once was.

Zen Garden- This is a Zen garden in Kyoto that I thought was very beautiful
