Northbound at Cross Bronx
OH HOW LITTLE THEY KNOW! It would seem that few motorists are interested in taking the Cross Bronx, perhaps because most people DO know better, but at least two unsuspecting cars are headed there. If they are lucky, something will tell them to get off onto the westbound Bruckner before they pass the monstrous Bruckner interchange a couple of miles to the left. If they are sucked in to thinking the road ahead of them is clear, because they will be the only other cars they see on this part of the Cross Bronx before then, they will be very sorry. When I finally get a Cross Bronx section up, I'll be more than happy to go into further depth on that. Motorists headed north to the right aren't likely to be too happy either, once they hit the merge with I-95's Bruckner about a mile up. This scene has changed somewhat since I shot this, after a mid 1999 reconstruction project. Taken May 1998.
UPDATE 2001: This scene has been altered a bit, as the lighting has been replaced by giant high masted Crouse Hinds "Cyclops" fixtures as part of a general reconstruction of the overpass beneath which the Cross Bronx bound motorists will pass.
