Lotus Elise

The Lotus Elise was introduced in 1996 and gave the legendary British car maker a boost. It is a very elegant looking car, and it's a convertible. But it's best quality is it's 1.8 Liter 120 hp inline 4 engine which makes it accelerate from 0-60 in 5.8 seconds. Other cars with similar qualities (small sports car, low drag co efficiency) with the same small engine do the same thing in about 8 seconds. The secret to this ingenious innovation is the use of high tech materials. That makes it weigh only 1,500 pounds. Other small cars like the Elise weigh about 2,500 lbs. Many different versions of this car have been developed for people who want more power. One of them is the Exige.
