Chapter Two

After Joyce finished the laundry she had to go work at the stables, she walked into the room she shared with Regina it was a rather dark ugly room but they both had made it nice and welcoming, she stripped out of her clothes and changed into a pair of pants and a white old shirt and boots, she put her long golden hair into a pony tail and walked outside.

The bright sun made her eyes squint, the birds chirped and ate freely at whatever time they wanted. She was jealous of a bird and it's freedom, she was tired of being stepped on sure she was a peasant but don't peasants of their morals like no other person. The wealthy where nothing but rude snobs, her thoughts drifted to Sir.Nickolas he had been kind to her,he didn't seem like all the wealthy people. But all that could have been an act.

She heard squealing and laughter floating threw the air,she turned her head around and saw that it was only Miss.Bobbie Jean and Sir.Aaron Charles swimming in the lake. She walked on over to the stables and saw a boot she arched her back a bit and saw that it was Sir.Nickolas petting the chocolate brown horse named ,Darkness. She grabbed the rake and gloves and put them on.

Sir.Nickolas turned around to see who was making the noise,he saw that it was the peasant maid Joyce. He walked over to her.

"Need any help ?",Sir.Nickolas asked her.

Joyce avoided the question and continued her work.

"I want to help you",Sir.Nickolas said.

Joyce looked up at him.

"No Sir.Nickolas this is my work so let me do it,why don't you just do what your father does",Joyce said wiping the sweat off her forehead.

"Are you kidding me ? playing checkers with a bunch of tobacco smoking men just isn't my thing",Sir.Nickolas said laughing.

"Sir.Nickolas the madamn is waiting for you in the study",Jorge said bowing his head.

Sir.Nickolas nodded and leaned in and kissed Joyce on the cheek softly before he left.

"Eh Joyce !,someone happens to like you",Jorge teased.

Joyce touched her cheek and felt the warmness where his lips had touched her.Jorge left Joyce alone so she could continue her work without any disruptions.
