SNOWBALL PATTERN #1




FIRST HALF
Ch 5, join with slip st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in ring, (ch 4, sc in ring)4 times, ch 2, hdc in first sc to form last loop: 5 loops.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same loop, ch 4, (sc in next loop, ch 4) around; join.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st, 4 sc in next loop, (sc in next sc, 4 sc in next loop) around; join: 25 sc.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, 2 sc in same st, sc in each sc around; join: 26 sc
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in same st, (ch 4, skip next sc, sc in next sc) around, ch 2, hdc in first sc to form last loop: 13 loops
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in same loop, ch 4, (sc in next loop, ch4) around; join.
Rnd 7: Slip st in first loop, ch 1, 4 sc in same loop and in each loop around; join: 52 sc.
Rnd 8: Ch 1, sc in same st and in each sc around; join.
Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in same st, (ch 4, skip next sc, sc in next sc)around, ch 2, hdc in first sc to form last loop: 26 loops
Rnd 10: Ch 1, sc in same loop, ch 4, (sc in next loop, ch 4) around; join
Rnd 11: Slip st in first loop, ch 1, 3 sc in same loop and in each loop around; join: 78 sc
Rnd 12: Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 3, skip next sc, (sc in next sc, ch 3, skip next sc) around; join: 39 loops.
Rnd 13: Slip st in first loop, ch 1, 2 sc in same loop and in each loop around; join: 78 sc
Rnd 14: Ch 1, sc in same st and in each sc around; join, finish off.

Second Half: Work same as First Half.

Finishing:

Weave in all thread ends.
Push balloon through beginning ring or any chain space of Snowball.
Sew Snowball together.

1) Immerse Snowball in Stiffener (Stiffy works best). Squeeze out excess and inflate balloon.  Hang and allow to dry.

OR

2) Inflate balloon and coat with stiffener (Stiffy works best) using a sponge brush. Hang and allow to dry.

Once Snowball is dry and stiff break the balloon and remove. Decorate to your liking and hot glue ribbon to top to hang on your tree.
