Welcome to Beacon... a small city with the friendly attitude of a village. We are located at the northern gateway of the Hudson Highlands, with Mount Beacon as our backdrop and the Hudson River as our front porch. Our creekside trails are in the process of being created, and will provide an alternative route from riverfront to mountain. We are the home of Madame Brett Homestead, the oldest house in Dutchess County; seven historical districts and National Register sites, including Tioronda Bridge and Howland Cultural Center. We treasure our quality of life, sense of place, and wonderful diversity of our residents.
